Invictus Games enden heute: Harry und Meghan reisen ab
Nach einer Woche gehen am Samstagabend die Invictus Games von Prinz Harry in Düsseldorf zu Ende. Bei der Abschlusszeremonie des Sportfestes für kriegsversehrte Soldatinnen und Soldaten wollen unter anderem Harry und Bundespräsident Frank-Walter Steinmeier sprechen. Auch Bundesverteidigungsminister Boris Pistorius (SPD) ist mit von der Partie.

Prinz Harry, der als Offizier der British Army in Afghanistan gedient hatte, hat die Invictus Games nach Begegnungen mit schwer verletzten Soldaten ins Leben gerufen.

Bei der sechsten Ausgabe in Düsseldorf traten mehr als 500 Teilnehmer aus 21 Ländern an. Das Ereignis fand erstmals in Deutschland statt. Am Freitag hatte Harry zusammen mit seiner Frau Meghan auch seinen 39. Geburtstag in Düsseldorf gefeiert.
